We have finally wrapped up our latest theme. This time, we decided to hold a contest. One lucky winner gets a free copy of each of the books featured in this round. This reader visited and commented on every blog, every week, and all that hopping has paid off. Congratulations to Karen Markuson! Thank you, Karen, for being such a loyal Medieval Monday reader.
But wait! You can still get free books. Well, at least one. During this round, I featured the 3rd episode in my Viking Erotica series, The Vikings. The premiere episode, Gunnar, is free today only. Here is a quickie to whet your appetite.
Oliana waited in her new husband’s bed chamber. Her heart hammered in her chest. And no wonder. She’d heard rumors about his brutal, sadistic tastes. She shuddered as fear swept her from head to toe. She had speculated too long about the treatment she would receive from him on her wedding night. Now she waited, their vows complete. The consummation of those vows imminent. Once he claimed her, their bond would be unbreakable.
What a strange word: bond. Oliana would be bound to du Fossé until death. From what she’d heard, that could be soon if she did not comply with her husband’s depraved demands.
Her guardian, the Seneschal of Neustria, had held on to her dowry far longer than expected, counting on her bride-price to bring him a much sought-after commodity. After much negotiation, he finally agreed to an alignment with du Fossé. The seneschal wanted the island for the control it would afford him, and du Fossé could only benefit from this elevation in society. Marriage to the seneschal’s ward would take him farther than any amount of fen-sucking had heretofore afforded him.
She shivered when a chill brushed across her skin. Her nipples hardened painfully. Oliana choked back tears, squeezing her eyes tight against the single drop that slid down her cheek. She would not cry. Her husband was reputed to despise weakness and was well known as a merciless man. Tears would only garner his wrath, and no matter what, Oliana knew she must please him if she wanted to survive.
BLURB: Gunnar Sigurdsen needs a place for his band of Norsemen to hold up for the winter. An unguarded stronghold at the mouth of the Seine River is the perfect target.
Oliana du Fossé waits helplessly for her brute of a husband to claim her. She doesn’t realize she is being seduced by an invader from the north until it is too late.
Will Gunnar and Oliana set aside their differences long enough to create a safe haven that just might last longer than a season?
